NHS SOUTH WEST

NHS South West is basically the overall provider of NHS healthcare in Somerset. They are responsible for addressing the health needs of people who live in the county. They provide some services themselves by employing their own teams of nurses and allied health professionals, treating patients in their own homes and community hospitals.

In addition NHS England also buys NHS services from other primary health care professionals such as optometrists, GPs, pharmacists, and dentists, based in their own premises. All optometrists will therefore be registered with NHS England or another Area Team in the country in order that they can examine your eyes.
